Welcome to Moochie’s

Moochie’s was created through a love for good food, good people & good waves.

Co owned by Australian + Sri Lankan business partners and good friends Molly and Sahan. Taking their love for community, surfing, wholesome food, open aired spaces and coffee; brought their dream Moochie’s to life.

We are a health-conscious, surf-inspired, dog friendly garden space that welcomes individuals from all walks of life seeking one thing in common, an adventure.

Tucked away off the main road in Weligama, Moochie’s is surrounded by palm trees, the sound of waves breaking, smiley staff & kids playing.

A space to unwind, refuel & celebrate the beauty and balance of life.

Inspired by the island

The dreamy and effortless nature of this amazing country is celebrated through fresh and locally sourced produce wherever possible, our dedicated smiley staff and our tight knit community of Weligama who continuously make Moochie’s the place it is today.

Sahan’s mornings are usually spent choosing the freshest and tastiest fruit and veg for you to enjoy through things such as Smoothie Bowls, wholesome salads & fresh-pressed juices.

Our menu is inspired by Molly’s extensive cafe hopping through the world. All her favourite dishes with a Sri Lankan twist.

Stay with us

Other than great coffee & delicious bites we also offer a peaceful night sleep in our home, on the same street as Moochie´s.  Two queen-size earthy rooms in with hot water, air conditioning, plush linens & private garden and spacious living area, along with an equiped kitchen. 

Just a short 50 meter stroll away is the famous Weligama Beach, perfect for all levels of surfing or just catching a sunset and indulging in the simplicity & beauty of everyday life on the island.

Back in 2019 when Moochie´s was first born our kitchen was a converted shipping container. As time has passed Moochies has outgrown the shipping container and moved into a bigger and better space. We’ve since used the container as our own small boutique. It’s a constant work in progress, balancing keeping up with current trends while being conscious of where and how our items are made. We stock our own goodies along with local handmade treasures from inspiring brands and individuals. Shop is open everyday between 9am and 9pm. Be sure to take a look next time you stop by Moochie´s!
